School Vans Must Have CCTV, Woman Attendant; Strict Action Against Rule Violators, Warns Pune Police Commissioner

Pune, 12th June 2025: Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar has issued a stern warning to rickshaw and van drivers transporting school children, stating that strict action will be taken against those who violate safety regulations. Key among these rules are the mandatory installation of CCTV cameras in school vans and the presence of a woman attendant during transport. Additionally, rickshaws are permitted to carry no more than five students at a time.
The warning came during a meeting of the District School Transportation Safety Committee held on Wednesday (11th June) at the Pune Police Commissionerate.
