Separate Lane At Toll Plazas For People Going For Ganeshotsav: CM Eknath Shinde

Mumbai, 29th August 2022: Chief Minister Eknath Shinde directed that vehicles going for Ganeshotsav should have a separate lane at the toll booths on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. After visiting the Khalapur toll booth, he gave these instructions in a meeting with the officials on Sunday.

Manpower should be increased to avoid traffic jams on this expressway and congestion at road toll booths during festivals and holidays. Along with enabling the CCTV system, the Chief Minister also directed to take immediate measures to prevent accidents.

 

On his way back to Mumbai from Satara, after visiting the Chandni Chowk area of Pune in the afternoon, he visited the Khopoli (Khalapur) toll booth on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. The Chief Minister reviewed the traffic congestion in this area keenly.

This afternoon, he visited the Chandni Chowk area in Pune. Regarding the traffic congestion in this area, he discussed it with the senior officials and directed them to take immediate measures.

 

The Chief Minister also visited the Khopoli (Khalapur) toll booth on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. He reviewed the traffic congestion in this area too. To avoid traffic jams during Ganeshotsav, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, the Chief Minister held a meeting with the senior officials of Highway Police and Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation to provide instructions. He directed that traffic wardens at the toll booths, and the number of scanning machines required for toll collection should be increased.

Besides enabling the CCTV system, the Chief Minister said that urgent measures should be taken to strengthen the road safety system to prevent accidents and to take swift action to relieve the passengers from traffic jams.
