“She Called Me Yesterday… Today She’s Gone”: Crew Member’s Family Devastated in Baramati Crash
Baramati, 28th January 2026: The tragic plane crash that claimed the life of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Wednesday morning has not only shaken the political establishment but also left the families of the crew members devastated. Among the six lives lost was 28-year-old Pinky Mali, a crew member whose parents shared their heartbreak.
Pinky Mali’s mother broke down while recalling her daughter’s routine calls. “She used to call me every day. Today, there was no call,” she said, tears streaming down her face. “I didn’t know something had happened until someone told me. Then I learned she was on that plane.”
Pinky’s father recounted the last conversation he had with his daughter. “Yesterday, she called me and said, ‘Papa, I am going to Baramati with Dada.’ She had been travelling between Mumbai, Baramati, and Nanded for the past three days,” he said. He only learned of the crash after receiving a call from a family friend and seeing news reports on television. “When the channel came on, I realised what had happened. Then the calls from others started coming,” he added.
The incident underscores the tragedy that touched not just political circles but ordinary families whose loved ones were on board.
