South Africa Defeats India In the Last T-20 of The Series – Param Lakhani

South Africa Defeated India, on 4th October 2022, at Holkar Stadium, Indore, in the third T-20 by 49 runs. India had won the toss and chose to chase once again. The Proteas posted a gigantic score of 227 runs for the loss of just three wickets in 20 overs. The Indians in reply could only post 178 runs before being bundled out in the 19th over. The top scorer of the match was Rossouw who scored a century with seven fours and eight sixes. The highest wicket-taker of the match was Dwaine Pretorius who struck three wickets in his 3.3 overs.

 

From India, Dinesh Karthik was the highest scorer. He scored a quick-fire 46 runs off 21 balls. He struck 4 sixes and as many fours at a strike rate of 219.05. South Africa avoided a whitewash by 3-0. India’s bowling efforts were not up to the mark keeping in mind that the T-20 world cup is just around the corner. Besides the bowling, the fielding of the team has also come under the scanner ahead of the big tournament.

 

India made changes in the batting order. Dinesh Karthik was sent in at number four. He played great strokes before being dismissed while attempting a reverse sweep. No other batsmen could contribute significantly in scoring runs for India. India managed to win the series 2-1, despite the loss. This series was India’s 10th consecutive win for India in bilateral series since Rohit Sharma picked up the full-time captaincy of the team.
