South African Woman Gave Birth To Ten Children At Once, Sets A Record

9th June 2021: Gosiame Thamara Sithole(37), a woman from Gauteng, South Africa, has created a world record by giving birth to ten children at once. Up until now, this record was held by Halima Sisse of Mali, who gave birth to nine children together last month.

Sithole gave birth to these children in a hospital in Pretoria. Sithole gave birth to seven boys and three girls and says that she did not take any kind of fertility treatment. She gave birth to these babies after 29 weeks of pregnancy.

Sithole’s husband Teboho Tsotetsi told Pretoria News that she is very emotional and very happy about it.  She said that the doctors had earlier raised the possibility during the examination that she could give birth to six children at once, but the scans after that showed something else.

Sithole explained that initially, she was very surprised and upset about her pregnancy. She felt very weak. She said that while she was worried about it in the initial days, later she got used to it. Thereafter, she didn’t even feel any pain, but it was very difficult.
