SpiceJet Faces Mounting Criticism Over Frequent Delays and Insufficient Passenger Assistance on Pune-Goa Route

Pune, 1st June 2023: Passengers traveling on SpiceJet’s Pune-Goa-Pune route have been voicing their frustrations on social media, citing a series of delays and inadequate passenger assistance that have caused significant inconvenience and disrupted travel plans.

 

The dissatisfaction reached a tipping point with the experiences of passengers on flights between Pune and Goa on May 22nd and 26th. The Pune-Goa flight, originally scheduled for 12:30 PM on May 22nd, finally departed nearly seven hours later at 7:25 PM. Similarly, the Goa-Pune flight on May 26th, initially planned for a 2:10 PM departure, was delayed until 11:50 PM.

 

Social media platforms have been flooded with complaints, with travelers expressing their disappointment over the recurring operational issues that have resulted in extensive delays. One disgruntled passenger took to Twitter, saying, “Spice Jet Pune GOA flight delayed twice and now all passengers asked to walk for more than 400 meters, pathetic service.”

 

Many others have echoed these concerns, emphasizing the stress of waiting for hours at the airport, often accompanied by young children and elderly individuals, without being provided food or water.

 

Additional grievances focus on last-minute rescheduling and the subsequent impact on connecting flights. A post mentioning flight #SG8645 stated, “Spicejet #SG8645 is delayed for 10 hours and rescheduled 6 times… authorities have no answer… need attention from the ministry on the compensation.” As these disruptions persist, passengers are growing increasingly anxious.

 

Even at the time of writing this news report, flight SG 525 from Pune to Goa is facing an eight-hour delay reportedly due to the delayed arrival of incoming flight SG 185 from Goa.

 

The recurring delays and alleged lack of assistance from the airline are severely affecting passengers’ travel plans, forcing them to spend prolonged hours at the airport. The surge of negative feedback on social media highlights the urgent need for SpiceJet to address these operational issues and restore passengers’ confidence in their services.
