Pune, 6th March 2025: Education Commissioner Sachindra Pratapsingh has ordered a special cleanliness drive to be conducted on Saturday, March 8, across all offices under the state education department’s jurisdiction.

As per the Chief Minister’s directives, a 100-day, seven-point action plan has been set for regional offices, requiring all government and semi-government offices to take effective action. Under this plan, a special cleanliness drive has been scheduled for March 8 to ensure a clean and organized work environment.

The Deputy Director of Education has been instructed to review the cleanliness efforts and submit a report. Additionally, the Education Commissioner has issued a circular directing the Directors of Primary Education and Secondary & Higher Secondary Education to implement the initiative in their respective departments.

Education Commissioner Sachindra Pratapsingh stated, “On weekdays, our offices experience a high footfall of citizens, making it difficult to conduct a cleanliness drive. However, weekends provide an opportunity to carry out this task smoothly. The cleanliness drive will also be implemented in the Commissioner’s office, along with other offices.”

However, the decision has sparked discontent among officers and employees, as the drive falls on Saturday, a designated holiday.
