‘Super Spreaders’: Pune Municipal Corporation To Vaccinate Laxmi Road Traders

Pune, 2nd July 2021: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) will vaccinate traders on Laxmi Road, otherwise they might turn into ‘super spreaders’.

Initially, health workers and frontline workers, senior citizens were vaccinated. Now citizens above 18 years of age are being vaccinated. The Municipal Corporation has started vaccination centres at various places in the city and vaccines are available in private hospitals also. Apart from this, people with disabilities, street people and slum dwellers are also being vaccinated on priority.

However, as the possibility of a third wave of Covid is being expressed, the municipal administration has decided to vaccinate the citizens who are considered to be super spreaders. As part of this, traders and their workers on Laxmi Road will be vaccinated inside the shop, said PMC Additional Commissioner Rubal Agarwal
