Talegaon Station’s INR 38.54 Cr Revamp: Elevators, Escalators, and More
Talegaon, 22nd August 2023: In a remarkable stride towards modernization, the Indian Railways’ visionary project, the “Amrit Bharat Station,” has taken a significant step with the rejuvenation of Talegaon Station. Under the Naye Bharat Ka Naya Station initiative, this transformation is poised to revitalize the station’s infrastructure at a budget of INR 38.54 crores.
The facelift encompasses a spectrum of enhancements, including the installation of 3 lifts and 3 escalators, a 12-meter wide Foot Over Bridge (FOB), and an artistic redesign of the entrance gates, pathways, and porches. Notably, a protective roof will cover additional platform space, ensuring passengers’ comfort in all weather conditions. The waiting rooms, enriched with new furnishings, will offer an elevated travel experience.
This project aligns with the visionary thinking of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who envisioned the Amrit Bharat Station concept. Talegaon Station, one of the 1309 locations identified across Indian Railways, stands as a testament to progress. Within the Central Railways network, 76 stations are earmarked for transformation, including 16 in the Pune division. Among these, the Talegaon Station’s revitalization holds a prominent place, requiring an investment of INR 38.54 crores.
Noteworthy developments at the Talegaon Railway Station include its elevation to the NSG – 3 category, welcoming the daily influx of passengers aboard the 13005 express trains. Furthermore, the station accommodates 10 vital mail and express trains, along with 40 suburban trains plying on the Pune-Lonavala route.
Presently equipped with 2 platforms and a foot overbridge, the station’s makeover incorporates a fresh perspective. The station’s entrances will boast improved lobbies, pedestrian pathways enhanced with landscaping and beautification, and the construction of a new passenger concourse. Additionally, the initiative involves overhauling the platforms’ infrastructure, covering them entirely and adding a 12-meter-wide pedestrian bridge.
Talegaon Station’s revamped amenities include modern restrooms, specially designed restrooms for differently-abled individuals, water dispensers, and the convenience of 3 elevators. Waiting lounges and offices will showcase new furnishings, enhancing the passenger experience. The station premises and platform areas will also offer comfortable seating arrangements.
Water facilities will be upgraded with new water booths, and the existing buildings will undergo a roof treatment. Substantial improvements will be made to the booking office, waiting areas, and entry lobby, creating a more welcoming environment for travelers. The overall ambiance will be heightened with improved lighting and the addition of three escalators for swift movement.
Furthermore, the project envisions a rejuvenated circulating area, the platforms, and the pedestrian bridge, all illuminated for both safety and aesthetics. With an updated drainage system, the station’s functionality will be streamlined, ensuring a seamless travel experience for all passengers.
