Patna, 30th January 2024: Former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, Tejashwi Yadav, was summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) today for questioning in connection with the land-for-job case. After his father, Lalu Prasad Yadav, Tejashwi faced interrogation by officials from both the Delhi and Patna teams of the ED. It is reported that the ED had compiled a list of more than 60 questions beforehand.

This interrogation comes in the wake of a similar session conducted with Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Yadav on Monday, lasting for about 10 hours. Beginning at 11 in the morning at the ED office in Patna, the session concluded at 9 in the evening. Sources suggest that Lalu was asked over 50 questions, to which he predominantly responded with simple “yes” or “no” answers, occasionally exhibiting signs of frustration. On average, he took about two and a half minutes to answer each question.

During the interrogation, Tejashwi’s daughter, Misa Bharti, arrived at the ED office, bringing medicines and food for her father. A large gathering of supporters assembled outside the office premises. While Misa conducted a puja at a nearby temple, arrangements were made for Lalu’s meals inside the ED office. Medical supplies were delivered twice during the day.

Later in the evening, Misa returned to the ED office gate, appealing to the CRPF personnel to allow her to meet her father. She also urged the supporters to maintain calm, emphasizing that any disruption would only prolong the proceedings. Misa remained stationed outside the gate for two hours, engaging in discussions with the CRPF personnel.

Throughout the interrogation, Lalu remained composed, responding to questions, while his supporters continued their presence outside the office premises, occasionally chanting slogans in support of Lalu Yadav. Notable figures from the RJD, including Shyam Rajak, Alok Mehta, Jay Prakash Narayan Yadav, and others, were seen sitting outside the temple of Rani Sati Devi.

The ED raised various questions during the session, focusing on the acquisition of land in exchange for jobs, interactions with individuals mentioned in the ED’s charge sheet, details of land registration and transfer, involvement of intermediaries, and allegations of accomplices receiving jobs or money. Additionally, questions were posed regarding Amit Katyal’s companies and the accuracy of information provided by him, including matters related to black money investments.
