Pune 6th Oct 2023: In a tragic incident reported at the Kalyan Railway Station on Pune-Mumbai Deccan Queen Express, three passengers who were trying to deboard the running train at Kalyan Railway Station were injured and two of them were rushed to hospital for treatment. The incident was reported at around 9:38 am on Friday.

According to railway officials, the 12124 Pune-CSMT Express does not have a halt at Kalyan Railway Station and the passengers were trying to deboard the train while it was running through the platform number 7 of the station towards Mumbai. Three of them fell on the platform and sustained injuries. “As per primary report, out of 3 passengers, 1 passenger condition is normal. Other 2 passengers, aged around 40 years and 25 years were badly injured. These passengers are rushed to KDMC Govt Rukmini bai hospital near Kalyan station by RPF/GRP/station staff. Further details about exact conditions of passengers from the doctor report are awaited” the officials said.

The incident delayed the train scheduled for the further journey as it was halted at the Kalyan Station between 9:38 am and 9:50 am. The train crew and staff at the Kalyan stopped the train immediately after seeing the passengers falling from the train. The railway authorities have urged the passengers to not board or deboard the running train. It may be noted that 12124 Pune-CSMT Express halts only at Lonavala and Dadar Railway Station during its journey between Pune and Mumbai and it is used by many regular travellers who travel between two cities for jobs.
