Kondhwa, 7th April 2026: The Pune City Traffic Police have announced significant traffic diversions and temporary road closures in the Kondhwa area for Wednesday, April 8, 2026. These measures have been put in place to manage the expected crowd and prevent congestion during the “Hindu Janakrosh Morcha” organized by the Sakal Hindu Samaj, Purandar Taluka.

The protest march is scheduled to take place along the route from Saswad to Yewalewadi. Anticipating heavy traffic jams in the Kondhwa traffic division, the authorities have decided to restrict vehicle movement to ensure public safety and a smooth flow of traffic.

Road Closure Details

According to the official order issued by Sandeep Bhajibhakare, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Branch, holding additional charge of Traffic), the road leading from Khadi Machine Chowk toward Saswad will be closed to the public starting from 7:00 AM on April 8, as per requirement. Citizens are requested to avoid this route during the protest.

Suggested Alternative Route

To minimize inconvenience, the traffic police have suggested the following alternative route for commuters heading toward Saswad:
Khadi Machine Chowk —> Undri Chowk —> Mantarwadi Phata —> Diveghat —> Saswad.

The police department has invoked sections 115, 116, and 117 of the Motor Vehicle Act to implement these temporary changes. Commuters are advised to plan their journeys in advance and cooperate with the traffic police on duty.
