Pune/Delhi, 20th January 2024: Delhi International Airport Limited, in an official announcement, declared a temporary suspension of aircraft operations at the airport from January 19 to January 26 due to Republic Day celebrations. The directive specifies a no-fly period from 10:20 am to 12:45 pm, and for non-scheduled and chartered flights, the restriction extends from 10 am to 1:15 pm on January 19–25.

Pune airport director Santosh Dhoke confirmed the cancellation of Vistara flights UK-971 and UK-972 between Pune and Delhi during the aforementioned period.

As part of the preparations for Republic Day festivities, dress rehearsals have commenced in the nation’s capital.

The police have outlined restricted traffic movement at various crossings, including Kartavya Path-Rafi Marg, Kartavya Path-Janpath, Kartavya Path-Mansingh Road, and Kartavya Path-C Hexagon, from 10.15 am to 12.30 pm on Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. The Kartavya Path section between India Gate and Vijay Chowk will also remain closed to traffic during this period. Drivers are encouraged to stay informed about real-time traffic updates provided by police personnel for a smoother travel experience.

Republic Day celebrations traditionally showcase the country’s military strength through displays of missiles, tanks, and other equipment. In addition to the military exhibition, states and union territories participate by presenting vibrant tableaux that depict their customs, history, and related themes.
