UBS Athletics Kids Cup Kicks Off in Pune with ‘Train the Trainers’ Session

Pune, 17th July 2025: The UBS Athletics Kids Cup 2025 marked its official launch in Pune with a large-scale ‘Train the Trainers’ session held at the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Auditorium, Ghole Road. The initiative, organized in collaboration with the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), aims to foster grassroots sports development across schools.

The session witnessed participation from over 150 physical education teachers, representing an equal mix of 75 PMC schools and 75 private institutions, as part of UBS’s larger plan to engage 500 schools across the region this season.

The UBS Athletics Kids Cup is a national movement committed to introducing structured athletics in schools and encouraging physical fitness, discipline, and sportsmanship among children. Focused on Running, Jumping, and Throwing events, the program empowers schools to conduct foundational track and field competitions with ease. Participating schools were provided with resource kits to support the smooth implementation of activities on campus.

This year, the competition structure includes two Regional Finals—one for PMC schools and another for PCMC schools—culminating in a Grand City Finals, making the format more inclusive and representative of the broader school community.

The dignitaries applauded UBS’s continued efforts in school sports development and underlined the importance of such structured athletic platforms in identifying and nurturing young talent.
The UBS team also shared the season’s roadmap and timelines, energizing educators to begin school-level activities with renewed enthusiasm.
