UIDAI Issues Notice To Update Aadhar Card If Not Done In 10 Years

New Delhi, 12th October 2022: The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has issued a notice asking those who had got their Aadhaar card 10 years ago and have never updated it, to update their documents and details.

 

In a statement issued by UIDAI, it has been said that the work of updating information can be done either online or by visiting Aadhaar centers. However, it is not made mandatory to do so.

 

According to the statement, people who had got their Aadhaar made 10 years ago and have never updated them in these years thereafter, such Aadhaar number holders are requested to get the documents updated. UIDAI has provided document update facilities to Aadhaar holders in this regard with prescribed fee. The Aadhaar holders can update documents related to personal identity proof and address proof in Aadhaar data.

 

The statement further said, “During these ten years, Aadhaar number has emerged as the proof of identity of an individual and Aadhaar number is being used for availing various government schemes and services.” UIDAI said that in order to avail these schemes and services, people have to keep the Aadhaar data updated with the latest personal details so that there is no inconvenience in Aadhaar authentication and verification.
