Unscheduled Power Outage and Mosquito Menace Disrupt Life for Porwal Road Residents in Pune
Pune, 9th March 2023: Residents of Porwal Road in Lohegaon, Pune, faced an unexpected power outage that lasted throughout the night, causing significant disruptions to their daily lives. As the summer season has just begun, the absence of electricity has made it difficult for people to manage their work from home routine. The recent rainfall in the city has also led to a surge in the mosquito population, making matters worse for residents.
The prolonged power cut has made it challenging for residents to combat the heat and humidity, making it difficult for them to carry out their regular activities. Moreover, the rise in mosquito numbers has added to the woes of the residents.
Jay Patel from Tranquil Park in Pune expressed frustration with frequent power cuts and unplanned outages, questioning whether they were living in a village. Patel criticized the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) for their inability to work at night, leaving residents without power for extended periods. He also lamented the mosquito menace that kept him awake all night.
Several people turned to Twitter for updates from MSEDCL on when they could expect electricity to be restored. However, users reported only receiving automated responses from the company, with no specific information on the expected timeline for restoration. This left residents in the dark, with no clear idea about Powercut.
