The renovation has been made possible through the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds of KSH International Limited. The Adoption Department of Mahila Seva Mandal has been aptly named “Vatsalya Tirtha,” which means a sacred place of affectionate nurturing.
At the event present were, Kushal Hegde and Pushpa Hegde, Directors of KSH International, along with Kishori Ogle, President of the institution; Rakhi Shetty, Secretary; Sneha Palande, Treasurer; Tanuja Pusalkar, Trustee; Nandita Ambike, President of Child Welfare Committee–2; Jyoti Kulkarni, Managing Committee Member; Sunita Ketkar, Administrative Officer of the Mandal; and senior social worker Suman Kirloskar.
For the past 86 years, Mahila Seva Mandal has been working for the care, protection and rehabilitation of destitute and vulnerable children. It is the only institution in Pune that houses an Adoption Centre, Childcare Home and Rescue Home under one roof, providing comprehensive support and care for children in need.
The institution’s Special Adoption Agency (SAA) has been functioning for several years and has facilitated the placement of many children into secure and loving adoptive families in India as well as abroad. With the objective of ensuring that every child grows up in a safe, loving and stable family environment, the organisation continues to work actively in the field of adoption.
To provide a more nurturing, cheerful and hygienic environment for children and prospective adoptive parents, the Adoption Department has been renovated and named “Vatsalya Tirtha,” meaning ‘a sanctuary of nurturing affection.’ The newly renovated space aims to create a warm and welcoming environment that supports the emotional well-being of children and families during the adoption process.
After the formal inauguration, Kushal and Pushpa Hegde, along with others visited the renovated premises and expressed satisfaction. The programme was anchored by Rohini Khedekar.
