Inaugurated at Savitribai Phule Pune University to Promote Student Talent

Pune, 7th March 2026: The Department of Education and Extension at Savitribai Phule Pune University inaugurated the “Vidya 2026” initiative on Friday.

The event was held in the presence of Dr. Sanjay Tambat, Dean of Interdisciplinary Studies and Director of the School of Education; Prof. Dr. Vilas Adhav; and Principal Dr. Archana Gosavi.

For the past three years, the Department of Education has been organising various competitions and activities, including cultural programmes, merit award ceremonies, field competitions, music contests, fashion shows and food competitions. Through these initiatives, the department has been making continuous efforts to promote Indian multiculturalism by encouraging students to showcase their diverse talents.

This year as well, the initiative was carried forward through the cultural activities organised under Vidya 2026, providing a platform for students to display their creativity and abilities.

Dignitaries present at the event included Dr. Sanjay Tambat, Prof. Dr. Vilas Adhav, Principal Dr. Archana Gosavi, Head of the Department Prof. Dr. Geeta Shinde, Dr. Vaibhav Jadhav, Dr. Nisha Valvi, Dr. Dhananjay Bhole, Dr. Sarika Torwane, Hemlata Patil and cultural programme coordinator Dr. Gayatri Chowkde.

A large number of students participated in the programmes and showcased their talents through various performances and activities. The event was organised successfully with enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members.
