Voter ID Goes Digital: Will Be Able To Download PDF Copy Of New Voter ID Now, This Facility For Old Voters Will Start From February 1

Pune, January 25, 2021: The Voter IDs can be downloaded today onwards. Till 31 January only those voters will be able to take their voter ID in digital format, who applied in November-December last year. From February 1, all voters will be able to avail this facility.
On National Voters’ Day, the Election Commission has launched the e-EPIC scheme. EPIC means Electoral Photo Identity Card. Through this, you will be able to download your voter ID on your mobile. You will be able to print a copy as well. Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad inaugurated it on Monday. During this event, five new voters were given e-voter cards.
Wait for Voter ID to end
After introducing this feature, you won’t have to wait for your voter IDs. Once the name is included in the voter list, it can be downloaded. The voters can print this card, laminate it or store it digitally for convenience.
Advantages of digital card
The e-EPIC will be different from the plastic voter card being issued to new voters. It can also be uploaded to DigiLocker. KYC has to be done before downloading e-EPIC. After availing this facility, the voter will not need to make a new card every time they change their address. A single e-EPIC will be enough for this. It can be downloaded anew with a changed address in the QR code.
Voters whose voter ID card is lost or corrupted will be able to download duplicate cards for free. Right now, 25 rupees have to be paid to use this service. With this step, one can move forward on the scheme of One Nation – One Election Card.
How will you be able to download E-EPIC?
First of all, to download e-EPIC, you have to visit the site of the voter portal, the voter helpline mobile app, or the national voter service portal.
The voter portal website is http://voterportal.eci.gov.
If you want to download e-EPIC but lost the e-EPIC number, then search for the Electoral Roll Form at http://voterportal.eci.gov.
To download e-EPIC, these steps have to be followed.
· To download e-EPIC, you need to go to http://voterportal.eci.gov.
· Register or login yourself on the voter portal.
· After that go to the menu and click on download e-EPIC.
· Enter EPIC number or Form reference number.
· Verify the number with OTP.
· Click on download EPIC.
· If the mobile number is second on the card, complete the KYC process.
· With the help of KYC, e-EPIC can be downloaded by updating the new number.
