Wakad: 26-Year-Old Woman Raped, Assaulted By Tinder Partner

Pune, December 28, 2020: A 26-year-old woman was allegedly raped and assaulted by a man whom she had got acquainted through dating app Tinder. A case of rape and assault has been registered at Wakad police station.

The woman works as an air hostess with a private airline. The accused, identified as Abhijit Sitaram Wagh, has been arrested by the police. The incident took place on December 26 between 4 pm and 11.30 pm.

According to police, the accused and the complainant had decided to meet at a hotel in Hinjawadi. They had consumed alcohol. Later, the accused took the girl to his house in Kalewadi on a two-wheeler. At his home, he tried to get physically intimate and when she protested he allegedly sexually assaulted and beat her. The victim was critically injured and is undergoing treatment at Sassoon Hospital. She has sustained injuries on eye, ear and face with kicks and punches.
