Western Railway Mobilizes Support for Ahmedabad Plane Crash Relief Operations

Ahmedabad, 12th June 2025: In response to the tragic plane crash in Ahmedabad, Western Railway has swiftly activated its Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Medical teams to assist with the ongoing rescue and relief efforts.

The crash, involving an Air India flight bound for London, occurred shortly after takeoff from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport on Thursday, June 12. In the wake of the incident, Western Railway has deployed significant resources to support the local authorities and other agencies involved in the recovery process.

According to a statement from Western Railway, six doctors and 20 medical staff, along with seven ambulances, have been dispatched from the Divisional Railway Hospital at Sabarmati, Sabarmati Workshop, Vatva, and Ahmedabad to provide immediate medical assistance to the injured and affected individuals.

Additionally, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) Disaster Management team, in collaboration with the hospital team, is working closely with other emergency response units to ensure that all necessary support is provided during this challenging time.

The Ahmedabad Division of Western Railway has also expressed readiness to assist with any further requirements as the situation evolves, underscoring their commitment to supporting the local community and authorities in the aftermath of the crash.

In a move to further aid the recovery process, Western Railway has announced that extra trains will be operated from Ahmedabad based on demand. As of now, two special trains — one for Mumbai and another for Delhi — are being planned from Ahmedabad.

Western Railway has also pledged to work closely with the state government and other agencies, offering to run additional special trains and provide logistical assistance as part of the coordinated relief efforts.

The incident has left the community in shock, and Western Railway continues to stand ready to provide further support in the coming hours.
