Pune, 5th March 2026: To mark International Women’s Day, Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) will operate special tourism bus services on eight popular routes on Sunday, March 8, offering citizens an opportunity to explore religious, historical, and scenic destinations around the city.

A total of eight air-conditioned electric buses will depart from the Swargate main bus station under the special service. The initiative has been introduced as the day coincides with a holiday, allowing residents to plan short tourism trips with family and friends.

“On the occasion of International Women’s Day, PMPML is operating special tourism buses from Swargate so that citizens, especially women passengers, can visit religious, historical, and scenic tourist destinations around Pune at an affordable fare,” the Chief Transport Manager (Operations) of PMPML said in an official statement.

Passengers will be able to visit several tourist spots in and around Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad through these routes. The initiative is part of PMPML’s broader effort to promote local tourism within the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) area.

The transport body has already introduced 13 tourism bus routes using air-conditioned electric buses. These services operate based on passenger bookings and have received a positive response from citizens.

The ticket price for the special tourism service has been fixed at ₹500 per person, making it an affordable option for day-long sightseeing trips. PMPML has appealed to women passengers, families, and groups of friends to take advantage of the service during the holiday.

Bookings for the tourism buses can be made at eight PMPML pass centres: Deccan Gymkhana, Pune Station, Swargate, Municipal Corporation Building, Katraj, Hadapsar Gadital, Bhosari Bus Stand, and Nigdi Bus Stand.

For more information about the tourism bus service, passengers can contact tourism bus coordinator Nitin Gurav at 9850501862, according to PMPML officials.

The transport corporation has urged citizens to make maximum use of the special Women’s Day tourism service and enjoy a day of sightseeing at well-known attractions in and around Pune.
