Young Man Killed, Body Set Ablaze in Pune: Khadki Police Arrests Suspect Within 24 Hours

Khadki, 19th March 2024: A young man was killed and his body was set ablaze in Khadki, Pune. The swift action of Pune Police led to the arrest of the suspect from the Dhanori area within 24 hours. Investigations have revealed that the murder was motivated by resentment and an alleged illicit relationship.

The victim, identified as Vijay Raju Dhotre (33 years old, residing in Yerawada), was found dead under the new Khadki bridge, his body bearing signs of violence and burning. The incident was reported around 2:30 pm on Sunday (17th March), prompting Khadki police to launch an investigation and register a case.

Under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police (East Region) Manoj Patil and Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 4) Vijay Kumar Magar, a team led by Senior Police Inspector Girish Dighavkar and Police Inspector (Crime) Uttam Bhajnavale inspected the crime scene. During the examination, a note was discovered.

Efforts to identify the victim were made through examination of his clothing and scrutiny of CCTV footage in the Khadki area. Identification of the victim was further corroborated by a distinguishing scar on his leg, recognized by his relatives.

Meanwhile, the police nabbed the primary suspect, Sudhir Jadhav, based on CCTV footage and intelligence. Efforts are underway to trace his alleged accomplice.
