10,000 NEET Candidates Seeking Admission In MBBS Write To NTA Demanding Postponement Of The Exam

New Delhi, 18th May 2022: More than 10,000 candidates seeking admission in MBBS courses have written to the National Testing Agency (NTA) demanding that the medical entrance exam NEET be postponed as the scheduled date for other competitive exams is very close. The exam is going to be held on July 17 this year. 

In the letter, MBBS aspirants said that while the date for this year’s National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) has been announced, the counseling for last year’s exam is yet to end.

The letter said, “Many NEET contestants and others waited till the mop-up round of NEET-2021 counseling (for the last remaining seats) in the hope of getting a medical seat from 2021 onwards, but could not get the seat. The mop up round ended in the first week of April. In many states, the state counseling is not over yet.”

It further said, “This year, many students could not calculate their percentage to get a seat in NEET-2021 counseling due to changed reservation policy and suddenly after three days, NTA on April 6 announced that NEET-2022 It will be organized on 17th July 2022.”
