Pune, 22 July 2021: A total of 1131 new Coronavirus disease (COVID19) patients were reported in the Pune district today while 818 people were discharged from hospitals. 11 people succumbed to the deadly virus in the last 24 hours. Today, a total of 59,620 doses of the COVID vaccine was administered to people in the district.
According to District Health Officer (DHO) Dr Bhagwan Pawar, there are 9610 active patients in the district and 5091 of them are admitted to hospitals while 4519 are in home isolation. Out of 1131 new cases, 333 were reported in Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), 170 in Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), 71 in municipal councils (Nagar Parishad), 13 in cantonments and 544 in rural areas.
Among the 11 deaths, six were in PMC, two were in PCMC, two were in municipal councils (Nagar Parishad), and one was in rural areas. Out of 818 discharged patients, 187 were in PMC, 191 were in PCMC, 63 were in municipal councils, 14 were in cantonments, and 363 in rural areas.
