Pune: Massive Fire Breaks Out at ASM Empros International School in Pimpri Chinchwad, No Casualties Reported
Chinchwad, May 21, 2026: A major fire broke out at ASM Empros International School in Pimpri-Chinchwad area on Thursday afternoon, triggering panic among students, staff, and nearby residents. Fortunately, no casualties were reported in the incident.
According to officials, the fire erupted around 3 pm to 3.30 pm on the first floor of the four-storey school building located in B Block of the Chinchwad MIDC area. Thick smoke was seen billowing from the premises, causing alarm in the locality.
After receiving information about the blaze, the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) Fire Brigade rushed to the spot with six to seven fire tenders. Firefighters launched an immediate operation and managed to bring the fire under control before it could spread to other parts of the building.
The preliminary investigation by the fire department suggests that the blaze may have been caused due to a short circuit in an air conditioning unit.
Further investigation into the exact cause of the fire is underway.
