Pune, 27th June 2026: The Maharashtra State Examination Council (MSCE) has postponed the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) exam scheduled for Sunday after a suspected leak of the question paper surfaced hours before the examination. The test was to be conducted at 1,028 centres across the state, with nearly 4.5 lakh candidates expected to appear.

According to the MSCE, Bhiwandi police conducted a raid early Saturday based on confidential information that some individuals were in possession of details related to the TET question paper. Officials from the examination council were called to verify the material recovered during the raid.

The council said the preliminary verification found that some of the questions in the material matched those in the June 2026 TET question paper. Following the findings, Bhiwandi police registered an FIR and launched an investigation.

In a statement, the examination council said the exam had been postponed to ensure complete transparency and fairness in the recruitment process. It added that despite putting in place stringent security measures in the wake of alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG 2026 examination, the suspected leak warranted a detailed probe before conducting the test.

The TET was scheduled to be held in two sessions for different categories of candidates. The council said a revised examination date and further updates would be announced on its official website after the investigation progresses.
