Pune, 7th June 2021: Giving a pleasant surprise to the tourists affected by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and the lockdown, the Maharashtra government has also allowed tourism as part of the unlocking plan. Therefore, tourists will now be able to travel freely.

“The Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) is all set to welcome tourists across the State in the next few days,” MTDC Regional Officer Deepak Harne informed.

Tourism in the State was completely shut for the past three to four months due to the outbreak of the second wave of COVID-19. Due to the arrival of the monsoon in the State, nature has been covered in the lush green shawl everywhere. So, the green hills and scenic beaches are attracting tourists. Tourists like to come here to enjoy the beauty of nature, to wander the valleys and mountains, and to get to know the culture of Maharashtra. The MTDC has set up all its tourist accommodations for the convenience of all these visitors.

Speaking about it, Harne said, “Due to the low number of tourists during the lockdown period, the staff of MTDC have been trained online with state-of-the-art facilities by combining experienced staff and young staff. The training has been imparted to more than 500 employees in the State. Disinfection measures in tourist accommodation will be made permanent for the next year, and emergency medical facilities will be provided to tourists and medical treatment will be provided at tourist accommodation if required.”

“An ayurvedic extract will also be provided to the visitors at the tourist accommodations. There will be a body temperature checking system and sanitizing sprays. The face masks, face shields, gloves, etc., have been arranged for the employees. The employees are also being vaccinated as it is a part of the fight against COVID-19. We have begun vaccination of all tourist accommodation staff. Snacks, meals and other essential amenities are being provided to the tourists in their rooms to avoid congestion at the restaurants. Pre-wedding photoshoots and destination weddings will also be arranged subject to all government regulations,” he added.

The MTDC’s all tourist residences have started and online booking can be done on the website www.maharashtratourism.gov.in.
Considering the influx of tourists shortly, a large number of concessions will be given. Information regarding this is displayed on the website of the corporation. The MTDC is also providing Wi-Fi facilities at the resorts under the innovative ‘Work from Nature’ concept for tourists. By taking precautions against COVID-19 and keeping nature in mind, it will be possible to travel without any worries in the future.
