Ahmednagar: Mechanised Infantry Centre & School celebrates 44th Raising Day

Ahmednagar, 3rd April 2023: The Mechanised Infantry Centre & School celebrated its 44th Raising Day with traditional pride and honor. The celebration began with the customary paying of homage to fallen heroes at the MIC & S War Memorial by Brig Russell D’Souza, Commandant of MIC & S, Ahmednagar. This was followed by a Central Sainik Sammelan at Darbar Shed.

The Mechanised Infantry Regimental Centre (MIRC) was raised on 02 Apr 1979 and re-designated as MIC & S on 17 Sep 2021. The Centre is responsible for all technical and tactical aspects related to Infantry Combat Vehicles and Mechanised Infantry concepts.

The Mechanised Infantry Centre & School, Ahmednagar is the home of the Mechanised Infantry Regiment. In addition to training all ranks of Mechanised Infantry, MIC & S is also responsible for imparting technical training to young soldiers of the Indian Army belonging to all arms equipped with Infantry Combat Vehicles (ICVs). They conduct technical courses for Officers, Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs), and Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) of all Arms, including Officers and Other Ranks of friendly foreign countries.
