‘Arnab Goswami Knew About Balakot Airstrike, Abrogation Of Article Etc In Advance Due To BJP’
Mumbai, 16 February 2021: The Congress has vigorously attacked the BJP after the screenshot of a WhatsApp chat between Arnab Goswami, head of Republic Channel, and former BARC chief Partho Dasgupta leaked. Congress spokesperson Sachin Sawant alleged that it has now become clear that the BJP and the Modi government at the Center are also involved in the TRP scam.
Sawant said that the Modi government has been trying to suppress the investigation into this TRP scam from the beginning. A new case was registered in Uttar Pradesh, and an attempt was made to infiltrate the CBI in this investigation. He further added that after Arnab Goswami’s WhatsApp chat surfaced, it became clear what the entire venture was being done for.
In a conversation, Arnab Goswami has clarified his connection with the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, and ‘AS.’ He demanded that the BJP must explain about the person named ‘AS.’ The screenshots also discusses abrogation of Kashmir’s special status and Balakot airstrike which Goswami claims to know in advance.
Screenshots of alleged WhatsApp chats by Arnab Goswami of Republic TV and Partho Dasgupta, the then CEO of the TV rating agency, Audience Research Council (BARC), have been in the news since Friday. It is being told that they are part of the 3600-page charge sheet of the Mumbai Police in the TRP scam.
The chats indicate that BARC officials were doing some manipulation to raise ratings in favour of Republic TV and Republic India. In return, Arnab Goswami provided vital information about the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, cabinet reshuffle, and secretaries’ appointments to Dasgupta.
After the arrests of Partho Dasgupta and Romil Ramgarhia, Mumbai Crime Branch Chief Milind Bharambe had said that the CIU had found significant evidence against the two from the BARC server. The evidence suggests that the accused had conspired to make Republic TV number one in the TRP.
