As Water Levels Rise in Dams, Politicians Demand to Cancel Water Cut in Pune
Pune 25th July 2023: The continuous rainfall reported in the last few days in catchment areas and rural parts of Pune has resulted in the increase of water levels in the dams that supply water to the city. The politicians have now started demanding to cancel the water cut implemented in the jurisdiction of municipal corporation.
Uddhav Blasaheb Thackeray party leader and former corporator Vishal Dhanawde along with other party leaders on Tuesday has given a letter to the Municipal Commissioner and requested him to cancel the water cut on every Thursday and start regular water supply for the citizens.

A delegation of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) under the leadership of Sainath Babar also met the municipal commissioner on Tuesday and has raised the same demand. The MNS leaders also threatened to launch a protest if the municipal corporation does not cancel the weekly water cut in Pune.
It may be noted that the water storage in the four dams Khadakwasla, Warasgaon, Temghar and Panshet has reached 63.77% on Tuesday. The four dams now have 18.59 TMC water.
