Pune, 12 Dec, 2020: For the first time, Balbharati has come-up with a unique idea to discipline the students. According to the new decision by Balbharati, the text-books will be re-used. Balbharati is responsible for the publication of the textbooks for the Maharashtra State Board students from class 1 to 12.

“The pilot project will implemented from the new academic year 2021-22”, said the officials. According to them this will discipline the students to use and maintain the text-books in a good condition. Interestingly, the Environmental Science subject does mention about the re-use of the resources.

The state government distributes school text-books from class 1 to class 8 free of cost. It costs the government coffers Rs 200 crores. If the re-use of text-books start, it will save the paper roll. The government has appealed the schools where the text-books are distributed to return the books in the schools. “This will be voluntary and no compulsion will be made”, officials cleared.

The final decision will be made only after checking the response it gets. A report has to be submitted to the director (primary). “Once the schools are re-opened, this project will be implemented”, said the officials.
