New Delhi, 23rd February 2022: BharatPe has fired the company’s controller and Ashneer Grover’s wife Madhuri Jain from the company for misappropriating funds. According to sources, Madhuri Jain’s contract has been terminated as investigations found misappropriation of funds in the fintech platform during her tenure.

BharatPe and Madhuri Jain did not immediately respond. Sources said management consultant and risk advisory firm Alvarez and Marsal are set to file their report soon into the financial irregularities that took place at the firm during Grover’s time. Global audit firm PwC was also involved in auditing the functioning of the fintech platform during Grover’s tenure.

BharatPe’s newly appointed CEO Suhail Sameer recently wrote a letter to disgruntled employees, stating that there are some serious allegations based on internal complaints. Sameer said these are being reviewed and he should put his faith in the board. The allegations are still being corroborated in the review. The company is doing its work by following the system.

Sameer said that whatever decision the board will take, it will be in the interest of the employees, traders and consumers.

BharatPe co-founder and managing director Ashneer Grover has taken voluntary leave till March-end after facing controversy for allegedly using inappropriate language against Kotak Mahindra Bank employees, sources said. Not only this, but his wife Madhuri Jain also went on leave in January.
