BJP Celebrates 45 Years With Service; Pune Event Sees Cross-Party Greetings, Plans To Enroll 9,000 Active Workers
Pune, 7th April 2025: On the occasion of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) 45th Foundation Day, a grand gathering was held at the party’s city office near Mhatre Bridge, DP Road on Sunday (6th April). The event witnessed the presence of leaders and workers from various political parties and sectors, who extended their greetings to BJP office-bearers.
The celebration, held between 8 am and 11 am, included a flag hoisting ceremony and the worshipping Lord Ram to mark Ram Navami. Union Minister of State for Co-operation and Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol, Maharashtra’s Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil, Minister of State for Urban Development of Maharashtra Madhuri Misal, Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Medha Kulkarni, former MP Prakash Javadekar, State General Secretaries Rajesh Pandey and Madhav Bhandari were present at the event alongside other senior party members and MLAs.
In a noteworthy display of political goodwill, senior Congress leader and former minister Ramesh Bagwe, Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee Vice President Mohan Joshi, and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP-Sharad Pawar faction) city president Prashant Jagtap also attended the celebration and conveyed their best wishes.

Speaking on the occasion, BJP city president Dheeraj Ghate announced that registration of 9,000 active party workers would be completed soon. The party has already achieved its goal of enrolling 5.5 lakh primary members in Pune. As part of the Foundation Day celebrations, party representatives visited the homes of 1,000 veteran workers to honour them or their families for their contributions.
Ghate also outlined upcoming organizational initiatives. Booth-level appointments across the city are nearing completion, and every BJP worker has been encouraged to hoist the party flag at home and take a selfie with their families. Leading up to Dr. BR Ambedkar Jayanti, several service-oriented programs will be held, including village visits, cleanliness drives, and outreach to beneficiaries of at least ten government schemes by each worker.
