Blended system of Online-Offline Education in post COVID world: HRD Ministry’s Innovation officer

Pune, May 30, 2020: After Corona epidemic, a new blended system of online-offline education will arise, but, it should encourage ideation, innovation and create employers, problem solvers. In the next 5 years, the education system will become more student-centric,more personalized, said Dr Abhay Jere, Chief Innovation Officer (CIO), Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India.

He was addressing a national level webinar on ‘Future of Education System-post COVID world’ organized by Maharashtra Cosmopolitan Education Society’s Institute of Pharmacy (Diploma), Azam Campus, Pune Camp. “Government is working on new education policy and it will be tabled soon. After COVID pandemic, the education system will get changed thoroughly. After this pandemic, the generation of problem solvers will be needed. We need problem-solving skills, design thinking and inculcate basic skills. Online systems are going to be more relevant. Its time where blended learning of online-offline will arrive”, Dr Jere said.

 

He further said, “We have 80 lakh students learning in technology, management etc field. We have 70 percent of students who are not employed. Now we need to emerge as knowledge-based society, knowledge-based economy. We have to encourage ideas, innovation, we need business incubators. Companies, people are ready to invest in ideas.
