New Delhi, 5th May 2025: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced a change in the sequence of post-result activities for Class 10 and Class 12 students, effective from the 2025 examination cycle. As per the revised procedure, students will now first obtain a photocopy of their evaluated answer book before opting for verification of marks or re-evaluation.

Previously, the process followed a linear system starting with verification of marks, followed by obtaining photocopies and then re-evaluation. The updated process is aimed at offering greater transparency and giving students a clearer understanding of their scores before they request any changes.

According to the CBSE, the new process is as follows:

1. Obtaining a photocopy of the evaluated answer book
2. Verification of marks, re-evaluation, or both

The board believes this change will empower students to review their evaluated answers, understand the marking scheme, and identify any potential errors before requesting a formal review. After reviewing the photocopy, students can decide to apply either for verification (which includes rechecking of marks and evaluation of any missed answers) or re-evaluation of specific questions.

In a notice shared by CBSE Board, the said update was shared with all CBSE-affiliated schools and will also be made available on the official CBSE website. Detailed guidelines for the application process will be issued after the announcement of Class 10 and Class 12 results, the notice stated further.
