Pune, 16th April 2023: As the attitude of Muslim parents towards education is changing, children from Muslim community are pursuing their education. But, dropout rate of children due to various reasons is also high. To change the current state of education, Muslim youths need to change their mindset said Principal Dr. Anwar Shaikh.

On behalf of Akhil Bharatiya Samajwadi Shikshan Haq Sabha, a lecture was organized on ‘Educational Problems and Current Status of Minority Community’. It was presided Presided over by Prof. Sharad Javadekar. Shaikh commented on the views on education in the Muslim community.

The attitude of Muslim parents towards children’s education is also becoming positive. Many households still have first generation learners and first-time graduate students. Even girls from families with poor economic status are now pursuing higher education. However, anti-government beliefs, including whether to get a job after education, cause young people to drop out of education and increase dropout rates.
Therefore, there is a need for Muslim youth to change their mentality and transform themselves,’ said Shaikh.

In his presidential speech, Sharad Javadekar expressed the opinion that an anti-Muslim situation is currently being created and some sections of the society are being deliberately kept away. In its budget, the government has made a huge cut in spending on minorities. The government has also closed the pre-matric, post-matric and Maulana Azad scholarships, so school and college students will have to study under difficult conditions without scholarships, he lamented.
