Pune, 24th January 2023: A circular was issued by the MOPNG about the revised trade margins of CNG, where MNGL in Pune District and major CGDs have paid and agreed to pay with arrears, except a few including Torrent Gas have been having a dispute to pay to the dealers even after the circular being issued in 2021.

“Despite multiple communications to Torrent Gas regarding releasing the Fair Trade Margins to CNG dealers as per the circular in existence and binding to date, circular of the MOPNG No. M-12029(11)/5/2021-OMC-PNG dated 01.11.2021, it is pertinent to see the adamant and disobedient behaviour of Torrent Gas to not pay as per the circular for a year and more which has resulted in losses of the tune of eight Crore to CNG dealers in Pune District till date.

It was brought to the notice of the district administration and also the state government as well that there has been no stay order received from any authority concerned nor any communication to Torrent Gas to not pay the margins to date, nor has any document of such been brought on record having the above particulars in it.

There have been around a dozen meetings held regarding the same on multiple occasions with all authorities concerned including OMCs.

Still, the dealers have not been able to get justice on their right and legitimate demand of trade margin as per the circular.

As the business is unviable at the current margins, it is hereby decided by the dealers of Torrent Gas in Pune District to go for an INDEFINITE NO PURCHASE AND SALE OF TORRENT CNG FROM 27th January 2023 as the dealers are not being able to even break even their expenses incurred while selling CNG at the present trade margins.

Henceforth till the margins are revised as per the circular of MOPNG the dealers have refused to operate and sell CNG on further losses and request the urgent intervention of the State Machinery to resolve this issue to ensure justice to the dealers at the earliest”, states a press release from Petrol Dealers Association.
