Pune, 10th November 2023: Sushma Andhare, deputy leader of the Shiv Sena (Thackeray group), has stirred up the Maharashtra’s home department by sharing a video capturing an incident involving a police van in Pune. In the footage, several young individuals are seen handing over packets to the police, raising concerns and targeting State Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis once again.

This latest development comes on the heels of the Lalit Patil case, where the home department faced criticism. Now, with the release of this video, questions are being raised about the efficacy of the home minister’s work.

Speaking about the site in the video, Andhare emphasized that it is an area near the jail, just 200 meters away. She pointed out the absence of CCTV cameras in the vicinity, raising concerns about security and the potential for untoward incidents. Andhare questioned the installation of a bus in the area, suggesting it may mislead citizens into thinking it was merely a restroom stop for prisoners.

The video in question captures a police van stopping, individuals approaching, and an exchange taking place at the back door of the van.

Andhare questioned the circumstances under which permission was granted for this exchange and what exactly was being transferred in the small bags. She asserted that thorough investigations are needed into the matter.

Andhare went on to criticize the government’s handling of various issues, including the ongoing OBC vs. Maratha debate. She called for accountability from the authorities involved in the incident, challenging the effectiveness of the Home Minister, Devendra Fadnavis. The deputy leader accused Fadnavis of focusing on internal party matters and failing in his role as Home Minister.

Pune Police Commissioner Retesh Kumaarr said that the video is of 26th July and action is being taken against errirng policemen.
