Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched the PM-Cares Fund to help the people affected by the lockdown caused by Coronavirus COVID19. PM appealed people to donate in this fund. On the PM’s appeal, Akshay Kumar first announced the donation of Rs 25 crore through his social media Twitter handle.

“This is that time when all that matters is the lives of our people. And we need to do anything and everything it takes. I pledge to contribute Rs 25 crores from my savings to @narendramodi ji’s PM-CARES Fund. Let’s save lives, Jaan hai toh jahaan hai”

After this announcement of Akshay, when wife Twinkle Khanna asked him about donating such a huge amount, you will also salute him after hearing Akshay’s answer.

Twinkle wrote in her tweet, “The man makes me proud. When I asked him if he was sure as it was such a massive amount and we needed to liquidate funds, he just said, ‘ I had nothing when I started and now that I am in this position, how can I hold back from doing whatever I can for those who have nothing.”

This is not the first time the Bollywood star has been praised for his noble deeds. Earlier, Akshay had started a campaign to raise funds for families of martyrs of security forces through the Veer initiative of India.

Akshay Kumar is constantly working to spread awareness against Corona. Posting videos from his social media handles, he has been appealing to follow self-isolation and stay in homes.

Akshay’s film Suryavanshi was scheduled to be released on March 24, but the film’s release has been postponed due to circumstances arising out of the Coronavirus outbreak.
