Dhiraj Ghate Appointed New City President Of BJP For Pune, Shankar Jagtap To Be City President Of Pimpri Chinchwad

Pune, 19th July 2023: The Bharatiya Janta Party on Wednesday announced a list of new party presidents for various districts of Maharashtra. The party also announced a new president for Pune City, Pimpri Chinchwad, Pune Rural (Baramati) and Pune Rural (Maval).
According to the official release, BJP leader Dhiraj Ghate has been appointed as the Pune City President and he will replace Jagdish Mulik. Besides, party has also appointed Shankar Jagtap as president of Pimpri Chinchwad unit, Vasudev Nana Shakarrao Kale as Pune Rural’ Baramati unit president and Sharad Anandrao Butte Patil has been appointed as the president of Pune rural’s Maval unit.
Shankar Jagtap, brother of former MLA Laxman Jagtap was also in a race to contest the assembly election after his brother died earlier this year. Dhiraj Ghate who was one of the aspirants for the assembly election from Kasba constituency has now been given charge of the city unit of party. This reshuffle is seen as an important change as the district is likely to face three elections including election for municipal corporation, state assembly and Lok Sabha in the coming days.
