Drainage Work From Dangat Vasti to Pendse Colony Begins

Kiwale, December 16, 2020: The drainage work between Dangat Vasti and Pendse Colony at Kiwale-Vikasnagar began yesterday. The residents faced problems in the rainy season as the water entered their homes in a flood-like situation due to the open drainage.

This morning the work began by the Bhoomi Pooja of the place. Corporator Babasaheb Ovhal, Shiv Sena’s Rajendra Taras, Suresh Nair, Shamshuddin Shaikh along with office bearers and citizens of various societies were present in large numbers.

There is open drainage between Dangat Vasti and Pendse Colony at Kiwale-Vikasnagar. The sewage from Dehu Cantonment Board is disposed of in this drainage, Dangat Vasti, Gulmohar Apartments, Vibs Public school, Balaji Square and Om Paradise Society are near to this drainage area.

Every year during the monsoon season, sewage from the drainage enters these societies. Additionally, due to heavy rains this year, a large amount of water from the drainage entered houses of many residents around midnight. Shiv Sena activists Rajendra Taras rushed to the spot at midnight and with the help of machines cleared the water. The local people faced several problems therefore they had demanded to solve the problems.

Rajendra Taras along with Corporator Balasaheb Ovhal followed up with the Municipal Corporation. Accordingly, the construction work of drainage was approved and the work began.

Taras said that as there is open drainage between Dangat Vasant to Pendse Colony, the water from the drainage enters the houses of citizens every year during the monsoon. This year the torrential rains had caused great misery. The locals demanded me to build a permanent and enclosed drainage. Accordingly, we followed up with the Corporator Balasaheb Ovhal. The Dangat family helped a lot in this work.
