EaseMyTrip To Hire 500 Interns, Opens New Office In Gurugram

Pune, 1st August 2024: EaseMyTrip, a leading travel booking platform, has announced its plan to hire more than 500 interns across India over the next 3 to 6 months. This initiative supports the government’s internship scheme introduced by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the 2024-25 Union Budget. The internships will be paid and available in all departments, with a focus on sales and marketing and back-end customer care.
The Finance Minister, in the 2024 Union Budget, proposed a scheme to provide internship opportunities to 10 million young people in 500 top companies over five years, aiming to generate employment. Under this scheme, interns will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 5,000 and a one-time assistance of Rs 6,000. Companies will cover the training costs through corporate social responsibility initiatives.
EaseMyTrip CEO Nishant Pitti stated, “We are hiring more than 500 young people as interns in the company over the next 3-6 months. We have recently opened a large office in Gurugram. With the new government scheme, hiring is now relatively easier and financially viable for us.” Pitti emphasized the company’s growth and the potential to accommodate interns in various departments after their internship period is completed. He also mentioned that the company currently employs around 900 people.
Additionally, Pitti highlighted that EaseMyTrip is one of the three companies in the business-to-consumer (B2C) e-commerce sector that has been consistently profitable since its inception 16 years ago. This recruitment drive aligns with the company’s ongoing expansion and commitment to nurturing young talent.
The new office in Gurugram will serve as a significant hub for this initiative, providing ample opportunities for interns to gain practical experience and contribute to the company’s operations. As EaseMyTrip continues to grow, these internships offer a pathway for young professionals to start their careers in the travel and e-commerce industries.
