Kochi, 11th September 2023: An Air Asia flight traveling from Kochi to Bengaluru was forced to make an emergency landing shortly after take-off. The flight, carrying 168 passengers and six crew members, departed from Cochin International Airport but experienced technical difficulties minutes into its journey.

Airport sources have reported that the incident unfolded late on Sunday night when the flight, scheduled for Bengaluru, took off at 11:15 pm local time. Shortly after becoming airborne, the aircraft encountered a technical problem, prompting the flight crew to initiate an immediate return to the Cochin International Airport.

Subsequent investigations revealed that the root cause of the emergency was a suspected hydraulic failure within the aircraft. As a result of this critical issue, airport authorities declared a full-scale emergency response to ensure the safety of all passengers and crew members on board.

There were no reports of casualties or injuries among those on the flight. The flight crew’s swift and professional handling of the emergency, along with the cooperative response from airport personnel, contributed to a successful and safe landing back at Kochi.

Airport officials were quick to take necessary precautions and ensure the passengers’ well-being upon landing. All appropriate measures, including medical assistance and passenger accommodations, were provided to those affected by the unexpected turn of events.

As is customary in such situations, Air Asia and aviation authorities have launched a comprehensive investigation into the hydraulic failure to determine the exact cause and prevent future occurrences. Passengers aboard the flight will also be kept informed about the developments and any potential compensation for the inconvenience caused.
