Pimpri, October 22, 2020: With an increase in fake accounts and online scams, Police Commissioner of Pimpri-Chinchwad Krishna Prakash also became a victim of cyber fraud.

Some fraudsters are using Prakash’s name and have created fake social media accounts. They are reaching out to people and are asking for money. A screenshot came forward in which a scammer has used Prakash’s name and has reached out to a random person on social media asking for monetary help.

The scammer asked the person to transfer 10,000 rupees via Paytm. He gave a number and the person agreed to transfer money thinking that the scammer was actually Krishna Prakash.

Therefore, Krishna Prakash wrote a message on his Facebook account warning the citizens to not fall prey to any kind of fraudulent activities being carried out in his name. He said, “It has been brought to my attention that there are a few accounts on #SocialMedia in my name. They may have reached out for communication/money fraud to others. Of course we will take strict action but in the meantime, please be aware and don’t fall for these fraudulent, cheating accounts. Thank you, Jai Hind!”
