The strike of the farmers protesting at the Singhu border adamant on the insistence of withdrawing the three agricultural laws continued on Friday. However, the arrival of New Year did not show any enthusiasm among the farmers. The farmer’s leaders had called upon the people of Punjab and Haryana to come and support the movement in the new year at the Singhu border. In such a situation, it was expected that a large number of people would arrive here on January 1. But, contrary to expectation, a very small number of people arrived on Friday. The farmer’s organization has been standing on the Singhu border for more than a month. It is being said that the number of farmers protesters may increase on Sunday.

Farmer leaders have held several rounds of talks with the central government. However, no concrete solution has been found for those negotiations so far. The latest talks took place on 30 December, in which some consensus has been reached between the farmer leaders and the central government. Now the next dialogue will be on January 4.

At the same time, the farmers’ movement sitting on the Singhu border will decide the talks on 4 January. Meanwhile, the farmers have also prepared the roadmap to take forward the movement.
