Firecrackers Caused Fires At 26 Places In Pune On Diwali Night

Pune, 5th November 2021: On the day of Lakshmi Puja, small and big fires broke out at 26 different places in the city. Large-scale fireworks were set off in the city on Thursday evening.

The fire broke out in 26 places due to firecrackers on the roofs of the houses. Firefighters rushed to the scene and contained the fire, the fire brigade said. Reports of fire were coming to Pune Fire till eleven 11 pm on Thursday.

The fire broke out in the evening at Navsha Maruti Mandir area on Sinhagad Road. The fire incidents were reported in Yerwada, Prabhat Road, Kothrud, Sahakarnagar, Guruwar Peth, Mundhwa. Most of them were minor fires.

The fire broke out when firecrackers exploded on the roof of the house as well as on the trees. In some places, firecrackers fell on the garbage which ignited the fire.

This year, a large number of fireworks were set off on the day of Lakshmi Puja. From 6 pm until late at night, fireworks were set off all over the city.

A transformer of MSEDCL caught fire in the NIBM Road in Kondhwa on Thursday evening, injuring a pedestrian. He was admitted to the hospital for treatment, the fire brigade said.
