Bhusawal 21st July 2023: Ity Pande, a seasoned 1998 batch IRTS officer, has taken charge as the Divisional Manager (DRM) at Bhusawal, marking a significant milestone in her career. Prior to this role, she served as the Chief Commercial Manager/Passenger Services (CCM/PS) at Central Railway Headquarters in Mumbai. With her appointment, she becomes the first woman to hold the esteemed position of DRM in the Bhusawal division, succeeding S.S. Kedia.

During her tenure as CCM/PS at Central Railway, Ity Pande demonstrated remarkable leadership, playing a pivotal role in the outstanding performance of the railway in both Ticket Checking earnings and Non-Fare Revenue earnings during the fiscal year 2022-23.

Under her astute guidance, Central Railway achieved the top position among all 16 zones of the Indian Railways in terms of Ticket Checking earnings, reaching an impressive sum of 303.91 Crores, while successfully penalizing 46.95 lakh ticketless passengers in the same period.

Her meticulous planning and strategic approach also propelled Central Railway to secure the coveted No. 1 spot in Indian Railways for Non-Fare Revenue, surpassing the Railway Board’s target of 82 Crores with an impressive earning of 87 Crores during 2022-23.

Ity Pande’s expertise is not confined to the Commercial department alone, as she possesses extensive experience in the Vigilance and Safety departments as well. Prior to her role in Central Railway, she has contributed significantly to Western Railway, holding key positions such as Chief Commercial Manager/Freight Services, Deputy Chief Safety Officer, and Deputy Chief Vigilance Officer at WR HQ.

Apart from her exceptional work in the railway sector, Ity Pande is also known for her participation in various athletic running events. In May 2023, she accomplished an extraordinary feat by successfully completing the International Comrades Marathon, an arduous Ultra Hill Marathon, from Pietermaritzburg to Durban in South Africa. Her achievement in this race has not only set her apart as the first lady Civil Servant to accomplish this but also marks her as the first from Indian Railways to achieve such a distinction in the prestigious Ultimate Human Race.
