From Group Video Calls To Screen Sharing, Telegram Competes WhatsApp With Cool Features
New Delhi, 27th June 2021: After the introduction of the new privacy policy of WhatsApp, the biggest benefit was to the messaging app Telegram. A large number of WhatsApp users had shifted to Telegram. In such a situation, Telegram also keeps bringing new features for its users. In the latest update, the company has added a lot of features, from group video calling to screen sharing, which can change the way you chat.
Let’s know about the new features of Telegram:
Group video call and screen sharing: Users can make group video calls in any active session by tapping on the ‘Share my video’ option. This feature is currently available for the first 30 people to join a voice chat (while unlimited people can join audio calls only).
Telegram has claimed that it will soon increase the group video call limit. You can also share your screen during a video call. The screen-sharing feature can be further accessed by tapping on the menu button.
Tablet and Desktop Support: Telegram has also added support for tablets and desktops. “Users just have to tap to open the side panel, which will give them a split-screen view of the video grid and a list of participants,” Telegram wrote in a blog post. Voice chat on desktop opens in a separate window, users can type and talk without minimizing anything.
Animated background: Telegram has also introduced animated backgrounds on its platform. The messaging app said that the multi-color gradient wallpaper in the app is designed to animate every time users send a message. To access this feature on Android, go to Chat Settings and tap on Change Chat Background. Whereas in iOS, this feature will be available in Appearance, then Chat Background.
Security Features of Telegram: Telegram has also introduced many new security features on its platform. The company has introduced a feature called Login Info Reminders which keeps the user’s phone number updated on Telegram. This ensures that the user is always able to log in to his account. If the phone number has changed, users can quickly update it with the new reminder in Settings on iOS. Telegram said that Android users will get this feature in the next update.
