Good News For Pune : Khadakwasla Dam Project Now Has More Water Storage Than Last Year

Pune 29th July 2023: The continuous rainfall reported in the last few days in the ghat sections and catchment areas of Pune has resulted into the increase of water levels in the dams. The water levels in the four dams of Khadakwasla project have crossed the storage reported on the same day last year.

 

According to official data, the collective storage in Khadakwasla, Panshet, Warasgaon and Temghar dams has reached 74.17% on Saturday compared to 73.63% reported on the same day last year. The four dams currently have 21.62 TMC water compared to 21.46 TMC reported last year.

 

Khadakwasla Dam has been filled upto 98.41% of its capacity with 1.94 TMC water, Panshet Dam has been filled upto 79.34% of its capacity with 8.45 TMC, Warasgaon Dam has been filled with 71.95% with 9.22 TMC and Temghar Dam has been filled upto 54.06% with 2 TMC.

 

The water discharge from Khadakwasla dam into Mutha river was stopped by the officials on Saturday as the rainfall activity in catchment areas was reduced. Earlier the discharge was increased upto 3,424 cusescs.
